CSC Coach Handbook

Safety:  Our #1 priority.  Info regarding Fields, Goals, Kidsafe background Checks, Weather, injury awareness, concussion policy, etc.  *Paperwork required.  Click for details. 

NEW CSC is committed to adhering to the VYSA Abuse Prevention Policy.  Coaches must familiarize themselves with the policy, including its acceptable and prohibited activities, and its reporting requirements.  Coaches must complete Sexual Abuse Prevention Training, and renew every 2 years.

Concussion Management  Important information regarding concussions.  Head's Up concussion training required for all CSC Coaches.  A helpful App to use on the field.

Fields:  Maintenance, scheduling, security.

Points of Contact:  Who should I contact with questions or concerns?  


Laws of the Game:  A guide to the rules of the game that apply to our club. All parents, players and coaches are encouraged to read and understand these documents to prevent misunderstandings on the field.  NO Headers for U11 and below. No goalkeepers in U8 and below.

Team Duties:  3 Team duties required of each CSC team.  Helping hands make game days run smoothly.   Please encourage parent volunteers to perform these easy tasks.


Code of Conduct:  For all coaches, players, and parents of CSC.  

Rosters, Equipment, and First Practice/Parents Meeting:  Everything you need to start your season.

Coaching:  Nurturing Sportsmanship, Boosting Skills, Fostering Fun  Rules of the game, ideas for training sessions.  A well-rounded player learns both technical and tactical from coaches.

NEW!  NCSAA Get aHead Safely in Soccer  A 30 minute online course explaining the correct way to teach kids to head a ball.  A NCSSA diploma awarded afterwards.  Send us a screenshot if you get this completed, to add to your coach's resume!

MicroSoccer Rules of Game and Guidelines  In CSC's starting division, players are given the opportunity to try every position, to focus mostly on their individual skills, and to celebrate their own achievements.  All players are encouraged during games and practices.  Scores are not kept, nor should be prioritized.  Coaches should work to develop in their kids a passion for learning new skills and for the love of the beautiful game!
